Minister Shukova, as part of the Government delegation that visited the municipality of Delcevo today, together with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupco Nikolovski and the mayor of the municipality of Delcevo, inspected the construction of works of the filter station for drinking water which is an important infrastructure project which permanently resolves the provision of clean drinking water for the residents of Delcevo and surrounding settlements in the Municipality.
“Domestic contribution of the Government through the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning in the project worth approximately 9 million Swiss francs is about 1.3 million Swiss francs used for the reconstruction of the existing outdated water supply network, its expansion and connection of the villages of Xvegor and Gabrovo to the water supply system” Shukova pointed out in a statement to the media and informed that the projects are being realized according to the foreseen dynamics, and the completion of the implementation is expected by the end of April 2024.
Shukova emphasized that efforts have been made and an additional 24 million denars have been provided for the construction of a water supply system in the village of Virce in the municipality of Delcevo. The project will be implemented during the next two years, 2024 and 2025. The preparation of the project documentation is in progress, after which the MOEPP will carry out the tender procedure. Shukova added that the Government does not stop here but continues to support the development of the Eastern region in the protection of the environment and improvement of the quality of life of the citizens, noting that in this municipality from the loan of the European Investment Bank for the construction of new and improvement of the drinking water supply systems and the systems for the collection, removal and treatment of waste water for Delcevo have been allocated 573 thousand euros for the regulation of the river bed of the river Bregalnica in length of 500 meters and reconstruction of the irrigation channel. Also, the municipality is supported in the establishment of sustainable waste management with the donation of equipment, as well as involvement in the activities for the establishment of regional waste management systems.
