At today’s meeting of the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Kaja Shukova with the president of the Community of local self-government units, Orce Gorgievski and the director of the Community of local self-government units, Dusica Perisic, they discussed ways to intensify cooperation in order to help municipalities in accessing financing resources from the two state loans, but also in the implementation of infrastructure projects that improve living conditions and protect the environment.
During the conversation, Minister Shukova informed that the MOEPP has already established project teams for the implementation of the loan for the construction of water supply systems and the collection and disposal of waste water intended for all municipalities in the country, after which the development of a methodology for the distribution of funds will follow. At the same time, she pointed out the need for the municipalities to have ready project documentation so that they could access the provided funds.
They also discussed the situation with the collection, management and treatment of waste in our country, as well as the possibilities for systematic improvement of the processes in order to minimize waste, and to improve the conditions for establishing a system for the selection and recycling of the used products. The common opinion was that more coordinated cooperation and the preparation of a single database is needed to be able to have an insight into the situations, but in the projects that are implemented locally, in order to be able to realize non-repetitive activities in the most effective and expedient manner.
At the meeting, it was agreed upon the presence of a representative from the MOEPP at the Management Board of the Community of local self-government units, which will be held at the end of the week to provide a more detailed report on the course of activities related to the two loans, in the direction of timely information and preparation of the municipalities for appropriate use of the provided financial resources.
