The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Naser Nuredini held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany H.E. Tomas Gerberich.
Ambassador Gerberich at the very beginning of the meeting expressed the support that the Federal Republic of Germany will give on the upcoming Council of EU in October this year for an immediate start of negotiation process for the accession of the Republic of North Macedonia to the EU. He stressed that the challenges the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning will have to face are big. In that direction he recommended clear set of priorities and mutual coordination between the Government and Mayors regarding environmental protection in the Republic of North Macedonia.
Minister Nuredini stressed that the support given by the Federal Republic of Germany for starting the pre-accession negotiations for EU are the best way to move forward aware of the challenges ahead of us in the implementation of standards and values for environmental protection. „We are ready to work together with the Municipalities and support them when needed. We should be aware of our actions in order to offer the best alternatives and solutions to address the challenges”- Minister Nuredini stated.
Also, on the meeting was discussed about the possibility of cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce which portfolio deals with waste management.
