(30.10.2015).The Minister of Environment and Physical PlanningNurhan Izairi addressed public discussion on “Assessment of possible solutions for wastewater and sludge treatment and recommended technical and technological solutions” where wider public, non-governmental sector, business sector, expert and scientific community and other relevant stakeholders were introduced into envisaged and recommended solutions for wastewater and sludge treatment in the wastewater treatment plant for the City of Skopje.
Public debate was organized in the frames of the project for elaboration of “Study on funding, construction and operation of the wastewater treatment plant for the City of Skopje – Republic Macedonia”.
– This project has exceptional national and transboundary importance for environment protection. We expect that the Study defines the best approach to funding, construction and operation of the wastewater treatment plant to serve more than 600,000 inhabitants, said Minister Izairi.
Development of the Study was financially supported by the Fund for Studies and assistance to private sector – FASEP and French Government in an amount of 729 thousand EUR.
The event was also addressed by Ambassador of France in Macedonia H.E. Laurence Auer and Mayor of the City of Skopje Koce Trajanovski.
