The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning in cooperation with the Swedish Embassy and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, today launch the digital campaign to improve ambient air quality entitled “Warm Recommendations””.
Research shows that the burning of biomass (wood) for household heating accounts for 45% of the national emissions of PM 10 and 68% of PM 2.5 particles in the ambient air, and it is expected that a large number of households will heat using wood as fuel. For that reason, we are dedicating the first part of the digital campaign to sharing good practices when using wood to heat homes and pointing out the importance of doing it in the right way, paying attention to the correct choice of fuel, proper cleaning and maintenance of heating elements and chimneys and on proper handling of fuel during burning.
Follow our “WARM RECOMMENDATIONS” on Facebook pageand Instagram profile, and share them with your family and friends.
