(01 October 2015) Today, the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Nurhan Izairi granted permit for collective waste electric and electronic equipment to “Ekon Elektron”.
– The main goal is to reduce negative impact of this type of waste on environment, i.e. on human health, as well as improve the standards of environment protection among producers, traders and end users, especially in treatment, recovery and removal of electric and electronic equipment, said Minister Izairi in his speech at the occasion of permit granting.
This is the fourth permit issued by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planningto collective operator of waste electric and electronic equipment in Macedonia. So far, such permit was granted to “Zero Waste” from Skopje, “El Kolekt DOO import-export” and “Elektro Eko Sistem”.
The Company “Ekon Elektron DOO” was founded by “Gorenje”, “Setec”, “Agrotehna” and “Rimeko”.
– Today, we are also opening the first collection point. By the end of this year, we plan to open 50 collection points and 2 collection centers in places where “Gorenje”, “Setec”, “Agrotehna” and “Rimeko” have their commercial premises. Opening of a “call” centre and web portal has been planned for the coming period and citizens will be able to get information on the treatment of waste electric and electronic equipment there, said Panche Angelov, Manager of “Ekon Elektron”.
