At today’s meeting of the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Kaja Shukova, with the representative of UNICEF for the Republic of North Macedonia, Patrizia Di Giovanni, the previous activities of the two institutions were presented in the direction of educating young people about a healthy environment and reducing the negative consequences of climate change.
During the open conversation, many common points were found for future, even stronger cooperation, as a complement to the wider activities of the Ministry supported by bilateral and multilateral partners, and consent was expressed for a joint performance in the inspection of the already implemented activities with several schools in the territory of the state in the environment and climate change section.
The representative of UNICEF expressed gratitude for Minister Shukova’s willingness to cooperate with UNICEF in achieving the common goal – ensuring a healthier environment and reduced climate change through partnership with young people and their involvement in decision-making processes.
Minister Shukova informed that in the draft of the Law on Climate Action it is proposed to include a representative of the youth in the work of the National Committee for Climate Action.
