(12.08.2015) Farmers from the area of Tetovo whose properties were damaged by the storm on 3 August may submit applications by 26th of this month for estimation and compensation of damages to the local office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy in Tetovo.
This is one of the specific measures to help the population in the area of Tetovo adopted by the Government at today’s session and reported this afternoon on press conference by the Vice President of the Government Vladimit Peshevski and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Nurhan Izairi.
The Government took a decision to initiate payment of single monetary aid in an amount of 30.000 denars for the most severely affected households, which was announced a day after the storm. The list delivered to the governmental Commission for estimation of damages was completed during the day and forwarded to the Ministry of Finance. The list contains around 350 persons that will be paid compensation.
– The Government took conclusion responding to the most severely affected families whose homes are ruined or unsafe for housing and they will be provided with financial resources to pay for rent for as long as damage on their homes is eliminated, initially for six months. The Commission concluded that several buildings will need to be demolished because they are unsafe and the Government will provide resources for these families to be accommodated, said Peshevski.
14 families with 60-70 members will be accepted. Six to seven buildings will be demolished, though the number of those could increase if it is concluded that they are unsafe to live in.
The Government made conclusion for allocation of additional 160 thousand liters of oil necessary for the machinery used in the clearing of damages after the storm. Instructions were also issued for intensive involvement of the machinery of Macedonian Roads Company, mostly freight vehicles for repair, rehabilitation and recovery of infrastructure and clearing out.
Public Company “Macedonian Forests” is obliged, in cooperation with the local population, and Ministry of defense if necessary, to provide materials for construction of temporary wooden bridge in Poroj, which was requested by the local residents.
Peshevski pointed out that the measures were taken as concrete assistance to citizens and sooner overcoming of the situation and coordination body formed by the Government will observe the conditions in field. If required, additional measures and activities will be set to bring life in the affected area to normal, Peshevski added.
Minister Izairi underlined that institutions are in permanent coordination and, he said, cooperation is at an excellent level.
– Cooperation with the population is also helpful and contributing to sooner overcoming of the situation, said Iazairi at the press conference this afternoon in the Government.
