(22.04.2016)On the occasion of marking the World Earth Day 2016, which is this year carried out under the motto “Trees for Earth”, representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning joined the activities organized by the Primary School “Partenij Zografski” which is the first energy efficient school in Macedonia.
Three parallel events took place in the school-yard after tree seedlings planting, namely: lecture on climate change in the Green truck, interactive workshop on social innovations addressing climate challenges and ecological paintings exhibition by “Partenij Zografski” students.
Planting activities are in line with this year’s topic of the World Earth Day – Trees for Earth aimed at mobilizing actions throughout the world in order to plant nearly 8 billion trees by 2020 – a tree for each man, woman and child.
The event was organized by UNDP and USAID with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Embassy of Sweden, Muleaukontakt Macedonia and Faculty of Information and Computer Engineering.
