The Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Hristina Odzaklieska, had an opening speech at the Conference on Soil and Water Remediation, the purpose of which is networking and exchange of experiences between states, institutions and experts.
– This conference provides an opportunity for an open dialogue between experts and environmental inspections, and allows us to achieve fruitful cooperation in overcoming problems and more effectively dealing with future challenges in the field, because a healthy environment is essential for the survival of the planet, especially today, when we are faced with climate change, devastating floods, earthquakes, forest fires, erosion, desertification, lack of food and pollution of all environmental media, especially soil, water and air – Odzaklieska emphasized.
The event presented the situation with soil and water in North Macedonia, and was attended by European and Macedonian university experts, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning.
The conference is organized by the European Network of Environmental Inspectorates “IMPEL” in cooperation with the State Environmental Inspectorate, which, as their full member, has been actively participating in the activities of the network for 17 years.
