By awarding 13 grants, CNVP begins cooperation with local communities from the Polog and Mavrovo regions

The Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Christina Odzaklieska, attended today the event where the Organization for Connecting Natural Values and People (CNVP) signed contracts with 13 grant recipients, within the framework of the project “Sustainable use of natural resources in Korab-Koritnik, Sharr and the Albanian Alps”, which is financially supported by the Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust – PONT.

1 zamenik grantoviThis officially marked the beginning of the cooperation between the CNVP and the local communities on the territory of the National Park Mavrovo and National Park Sharr Mountains.

2– “I am glad that the project for sustainable use of natural resources in Korab Koritnik, Sharri and the Albanian Alps will be implemented regionally. I sincerely hope that through the provided support to the local communities, socioeconomic development will be initiated in the Polog and Mavrovo regions, and direct support will be provided to the local non-governmental institutions, protected areas, municipalities, small and medium-sized enterprises and other local communities that operate in the region”, stated the Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Christina Odzaklieska in the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of the support and cooperation of all relevant stakeholders at the regional level in achieving sustainable management of the protected areas that we share with neighboring countries.

3The grants were awarded for project that promote cross-border sustainable management of natural resources and the development of nature-based tourism, which will enable a better life for the citizens of the region in harmony with nature.
