The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Kaja Shukova held a working meeting with the Ambassador of Switzerland to North Macedonia Veronique Ullmann, where they discussed current issues related to joint projects.
Switzerland is one of the biggest supporters of our country in the area of environmental and nature protection. It was about two topics. The additional funds allocated by Switzerland and the announced funds from the MOEPP for the full implementation of the large multi-year project for improved water supply in Delcevo were discussed.
A discussion was also opened on the challenges faced by the regional public enterprise Rusino in ensuring efficient management of the regional system and the dumpsite in Rusino. The need to establish sustainable financing of the regional waste management system and the dumpsite was mentioned as a priority, which requires the increased collection of bills for waste collection and disposal services in order for the system to function properly.
This is the responsibility of every resident in the country, and the responsibility for the functioning of the already established infrastructure is a responsibility not only to themselves but also to the donors who invested the funds collected by the citizens of their countries.
