We inform you that the MOEPP, represented by the Minister Kaja Shukova, will proceed to sign the Agreement of participation in the Programme for Environment and Climate Action (LIFE), between the European Union and North Macedonia. The same was decided at the 149th session of the Government held on April 25, 2023.
For the first time, the Republic of North Macedonia, by signing the Agreement for participation in the LIFE Program, will ensure the opening of new opportunities for applying for projects that will improve our environment and contribute to combatting climate change. The agreement for the participation of our country in the Programme for Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) will be signed during 2023, with a time frame from 2023 to 2027. For participation in the program in the given time frame, the MOEPP will provide an appropriate financial contribution for the use of this program for each year.
The program of the Union “LIFE” supports projects in the following areas: Nature and biodiversity, Circular economy and quality of life, climate change, mitigation and adaptation, and transition to clean energy. More detailed information about all areas can be found on the website of the “LIFE“ Programme LINK or on the social network Facebook LINK.
The European Commission, in accordance with its LIFE Multiannual Work Programme 2021-2024, publishes calls for applications for projects to be followed accordingly on its website LINK.
Applicants who will apply to calls for the Programme for Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) in 2023 will be primarily evaluated by independent EU evaluators. Those applicants who are selected will be able to sign a project contract. According to the guidelines from the European Commission, all those who applied before 2023 and were positively evaluated, will not be able to conclude a grant agreement because the program will be effective from 2023. They are encouraged to re-apply to the LIFE Program calls.
We would like to inform you that the MOEPP will soon organize info days when the entire application process of the Programme for Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) will be explained in detail.
