On July 15 2019, Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Naser Nuredini held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic H.E. Miroslav Toman.
The meeting was aimed at exchange of opinions and experiences, as well as intensifying the cooperation in the field of environment.
Minister Nuredini expressed his appreciation for the possibilities for future cooperation and exchange of our opinions and experiences with the Czech Republic, as well to receive useful information that will help us in realizing our common goals, taking into account national needs.
The bilateral cooperation between two countries has been initiated long time ago and it is institutionalized by signing a Bilateral Protocol for cooperation in the field of environmental protection on July 17, 2004, in Prague, as a result of long-standing cooperation on expert level. The Protocol gives a great opportunity for both sides to increase our efforts towards cooperation on specific projects having in mind the national priorities such as, waste management, climate change, air and water protection.
Also, Ambassador Toman and Minister Nuredini expressed their willingness to implement environmental conclusions that were ascertained during the Second Session of the Joint Committee on the Bilateral Agreement for Economic and Industrial cooperation implemented by the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Government of the Czech Republic, held on April this year in Skopje, where both sides expressed consent to harmonize/update the priority areas of cooperation in the current 2004 Protocol for cooperation in the field of environmental protection or drafting a new bilateral document for signing.
